Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was killed in the Washwood Heath area of Birmingham last night (10 September).
Officers were called to Highfield Road just before 10pm to reports of several men involved in a fight.
When emergency services arrived at the scene they found a man in his 20s had suffered a suspected stab wound.
He was treated by paramedics but nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The area has now been cordoned off while detectives carry out a full investigation into what happened.
In the early hours of this morning a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is due to be questioned today.
Detective Inspector Shaun Egan, from Force CID, said: “The attack happened at a time when we know there would have been a number of people in the area and we need to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
“If you have any information and have yet to speak to police, please speak to an officer at the scene or get in touch with us by calling 101."
