An investigation has been launched after a man was shot in Birmingham in the early hours of this morning (Monday 29 August).
An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital after being shot in the leg in Thorp Street at just after 4.10am.
The man was found in the street with non-life threatening injuries and is in a stable condition. The scene is currently sealed off as part of the investigation.
Inspector Christian Wilkins, from West Midlands Police, said: "We believe this to be a targeted attack and fortunately the man’s injuries are not life threatening.
"We have conducted a detailed forensic search of the area, Thorpe Street at Hurst and Bristol Street will remain closed this morning as part of the investigation."
